PVPHS Music Volunteer Club This page for Tutors Only
Tutors will use this page to sign up for volunteering to give music lessons to elementary and middle school students during the school year. This program is a student run program and is not the same program as the Panther Music Mentors that takes place during the summer. You will receive community service hours for the time that you tutor and your hours will be tracked and given to the Music Boosters Community Service Coordinator. If you obtain 100 hours in a calendar year, you will receive the Presidential Service Award from the Music Boosters.
Please sign up for ONLY the dates that you can make sessions. Remember, these are YOUR HOURS so you want to sign up for as many sessions as possible!
There are two sessions every Sunday; Session 1 is from 2-3pm, or Session 2 is from 3-4pm. You may pick one of the sessions or both. You will be getting 15 minutes of setup service time for before each session and 15 minutes at the end for cleanup and sticking around until the student's parent picks them up.
Attendance of sessions will be based on the 3 strike rule. This means that the third unexcused absence you receive for sessions you have signed up for, you will only get half of the hours that you have done before AND you will no longer volunteer by teaching kids.
Excused absence means notification of your absence to club president via email, facebook...etc. - two days before the Sunday meet.
In case of emergencies, parents would have to write a note and sign.
All other absences are unexcused. The reason that we're being really strict with attendance is that we CANNOT have parents and children coming for a lesson without the tutor showing up!
